We are proud to have been brewing at the original Old Brewery in Bridport, Dorset, for nearly 230 years now, blending traditional methods and decades of expertise with the finest ingredients to craft award-winning ales. Our beautiful thatched brewery is nestled just inland from Dorset’s renowned Jurassic Coast. It remains one of the few breweries still operating an open-top copper – with very little stainless steel involved!
Our brewhouse team has received numerous awards in recent years, including top honours at the SIBA National Championship. Copper Ale (3.7%), Palmers IPA (4.2%), Dorset Gold (4.5%), Palmers 200 (5.0%), and Tally Ho! (5.5%) are our staple ales, with seasonal varieties brewed occasionally. The Dorset Pale (4.0%) is our craft keg, a very smooth, delightfully hoppy, premium session IPA.
A family-run business
We are a family-run business, which allows us to build very long-standing relationships with customers and suppliers. We have maintained partnerships with several of our wine suppliers for over twenty years and share a long-standing friendship with David Sheppy (Master of Cider and sixth generation of Sheppys), who produces our Dorset Orchards ciders. This all contributes to our ability to supply excellent-value, high-quality products.
Most of our regular wholesale customers have been with us for over five years, and many for over ten. We are very proud to provide high-quality products and services to such loyal partners. We believe a partnership begins from the very start – the support our Technical Services team offers to help get your cellar or bar up and running is one of our true USPs.

All our deliveries are carried out in-house by our own draymen, and we are committed to providing the best service in the industry; this, along with our knowledgeable and friendly Tele-Sales team, and our highly efficient cellar Technical Services team, ensures a smooth experience.
Everyone working at the Old Brewery has BIIAB training in beer and cellar quality, so you can trust that we speak your language. Our Technical Services team is available 24/7 to keep the beer flowing; they can also provide one-to-one training and best-practice advice for you and your team.
