The Red Lion is an 18th-century coach house located right in the centre of Beaminster’s historic town square. The traditional building combines local heritage with a lively atmosphere, acting as a central hub for the town's community. It provides a versatile, welcoming base for residents and visitors to meet up, make use of the various indoor spaces, or explore the surrounding Dorset countryside.
Local dining, live entertainment, and a first-floor function room
The kitchen serves a menu of freshly prepared dishes focused on locally sourced ingredients and traditional pub favourites. Inside, the cosy layout hosts a vibrant evening atmosphere with regular live music events drawing visitors from across the region. The building features a unique skittle alley that currently operates as an art gallery, and dogs are welcome inside the bar.
A first-floor function room comes complete with its own private bar, providing a large dedicated space for private hire, family celebrations, or community events. Outside, a beer garden offers extra seating for open-air dining during the warmer months. The property also includes disabled facilities to ensure full accessibility for anyone visiting the town square.
