The Royal Standard is an historic, family-run pub positioned right on the seafront in Lyme Regis. Located just steps from the beach and the town's iconic Cobb wall, the traditional building combines its 400-year history with direct coastal views, serving as a popular destination for both residents and visitors exploring the edge of the Jurassic Coast.
Seaside dining, Greek specialities, and a beachside garden
The family-run kitchen prepares a menu of home-cooked dishes that features fresh, locally caught crab and lobster alongside traditional pub favourites. Rachael and her husband, Akis, introduce authentic Greek flavours to the menu, bringing a unique Mediterranean influence to the seaside dining. The bar pairs these meals with well-kept pints of Palmers cask ale and cider.
A large outdoor beer garden overlooks the beach, with panoramic views of the sea and coastline. Walkers exploring the Lyme Regis shore use the space regularly to rest, and dogs are welcome. The venue also features full disabled facilities to ensure the entire beachside experience remains accessible to all visitors.
