Origin of Palmers Dorset Gold
Launched in 1999 as a summer seasonal, Dorset Gold now sits firmly at the centre of the range.
Its golden colour is the result of including three times more malted wheat than any of our other brews. Subtly hopped and wonderfully refreshing it pairs well with relaxed summer drinking.
The original ale was just 3.7% vol. and the clip drew on the iconic West Dorset coastline. This was updated in 2008 and retained the landscape of the Jurassic Coast.
In 2025 Dorset Gold overtook Palmers IPA to become our best selling ale.
